31 Day Writing Challenge #2: Day 13 - 'Dear Anna'
Dear Anna,
You have it all now. Everything you wanted. Every single thing you coveted of mine, you now have. You are married to my handsome, charming husband; you are living in my dream house with the big bedrooms and cozy reading nooks; you are raising my three beautiful children and are living my idyllic life.
Is it everything you hoped for, dear Anna?
Or has the bubble burst, oh dear, sweet, Anna? You aren't the hot, forbidden girlfriend anymore, you are the every day wife. Do you spend more time tearing off his clothes or picking them up? Does he spend more time whispering sweet nothings in your ear or mumbling under his breath? Has he asked you to make his grandmother's cake? And then complained that it doesn't taste right? Are you sick of socks on the floor? Or are you too busy being ravished to care? Are my kids the little angels you always thought they'd be? Or have they turned out to be human, after all? Do they remind you a little too much of me? Is the fact you are just 'step-mum' a bigger deal than you thought? Have they let you in the way you hoped they would? Are you both equal parents or does he get the final say?
Have his views on how you dress changed? Has he told you how his wife should look? Has he made it clear who and how you should be? If he hasn't, he soon will. If you want a happy husband and a long marriage, bow to his every whim and swallow your pride (amongst other things). Don't do what I did, and stand up for yourself and on your own two feet. I was strong enough to fight for me, maybe you wont make the same mistake.
But tell me, dear Anna, are you happy now?
