Sometimes Avery hated her gift. Sometimes she'd give anything to have someone take it away. She had no power over it, and could do nothing to stop what was going to happen. She'd tried anyway. She had to, this was Jake, she'd do anything for him. But she couldn't protect him from what was coming, or from himself. He had no idea that the time they spent together was agony for her, because every time they met, her premonition would play in her head and smash her heart.
But the summer was ending. And when it did, so would his life.
